Mr. Balaguer’s professional career encompasses over 25 years in commercial banking and payment systems. For 11 years he worked with Banco de Ponce in Puerto Rico, reaching the senior management position in the banking division, then joining Citibank (P.R.) where he occupied key positions in the areas of administration, operations and merchant affiliation. During the next 15 years, Mr. Balaguer worked in the main office of Visa International, Latin America and Caribbean region, where he reached the position of Senior Vice President of the Operations and Support Division for all Visa Member Banks in the region. Subsequently, Mr. Balaguer joined Banco Popular Dominicano where he held the positions of Vice President in the Personal Banking Area and Executive Vice President of Credomatic Popular, Dominican Republic. Mr. Balaguer founded JBalaguer & Associates in 1998.
